Amicus Capital acquires
Coles of London

Belfast, 6th November 2006 – Today, private equity group Amicus Capital Partners announced the acquisition of “Coles”, one of London’s oldest and most prestigious heritage menswear brands.
Terms were not disclosed.
Earlier this year Amicus Capital took a controlling interest in Glenaden Shirts Limited, the UK’s only remaining volume shirt manufacturer. Glenaden was the vehicle for the purchase of the trade, assets and intellectual property of “Coles”.
Commenting, Glenaden Chairman and Amicus Capital Partner Dr Terry McCartney OBE said “the addition of Coles, a great brand with a long and dignified history, to the existing premium brand portfolio of Glenaden Shirts reinforces our confidence for the future of high quality brands”. Glenaden’s brand portfolio also includes “Thread & Bone” and “1…like no other”.
Andrew Lowden, Managing Director of Glenaden, said “our relationship as a major supplier to leading Jermyn Street retailers remains the cornerstone of our business. However, the acquisition of Coles will provide an additional key platform in developing our brand portfolio, particularly in the USA and Far Eastern markets”.
