Amicus Partners Boosts Adria Charitable Trust
Private equity company Amicus Partners, which last year became the major shareholder in Adria Ltd, has donated £10,000 to the Adria Charitable Trust.
The Trust, which was founded some fifteen years ago, forms a key strand of the hosiery and apparel company's strategy for community involvement. It supplements the work of the Adria Community Chest - funded by staff donations - as well as individual donations to worthy projects directly from Adria Ltd.
The donation by Amicus Partners, which will see the funds available to the Adria Charitable Trust increase to approximately £60,000, will be used to assist projects that fulfil the Trust's key criteria of being local, youth oriented and cross-community in ethos. The Trust has in recent months supported the June visit of Special Olympics athletes to the North West, and provided funds for both gaelic and cricket teams in the local area.
Terry McCartney of Amicus Partners and Adria said of the donation:
"Adria is keen to build on its strong relationships with the local community, as the company recognises the importance of giving something back to the workforce which has been the backbone of its success. We hope that many more worthy projects will come forward with interesting and creative suggestions for ways in which the Charitable Trust can help local charitable and voluntary organisations."
